Philippe Gas is General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort, leading a dynamic and highly-talented group of Cast Members (Disney’s term for employees) across a wide variety of business lines during the operation phase of the new resort. With over 20 years representing the Disney brand around the world, Philippe has extensive experience and a global understanding of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

In August 2014, Philippe transitioned into the role of General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort, a project that is both significant and strategic for The Walt Disney Company, and which represents the largest foreign investment in the company’s history. In his current role he is responsible for managing the daily operations of Disney’s newest global resort destination, marking a key entry into the world’s largest consumer market.


George M. Gross

George M. Gross

Chief Financial Officer

George Gross is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Shanghai Disney Resort. He joined Shanghai Disney Resort in August 2013.

Joining The Walt Disney Company in June of 1993, George has held various leadership positions throughout the Walt Disney Company Parks and Resorts segment. For the year prior to his current role, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Hong Kong Disneyland. Prior to that he was Financial Controller for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and leader of the Controllership department, providing financial and control support, analysis, and reporting for several of the world’s top tourist destinations. Among other business units, included in his controllership responsibilities were the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida; the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California; Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and the Disney Cruise Line.


David Lightbody

Vice President, Entertainment

As Vice President of Entertainment for Shanghai Disney Resort, David Lightbody has full responsibility for the live entertainment programme across the resort including all stage shows, parades, spectaculars, seasonal events and other performances. He is also currently Associate Producer for the mandarin language production of THE LION KING, the longest running musical in Chinese history.

In 2013 David joined The Walt Disney Company as Director, Entertainment and Costuming at Hong Kong Disneyland. Over three and a half years David was the lead Executive on the IAAPA and THEA award winning “Disney Paint the Night” Nighttime Spectacular, and Executive Producer for Hong Kong Disneyland’s 10th Anniversary celebration, the new stage musical Mickey and the Wondrous Book and the Star Wars: Tomorrowland Takeover activation. Before joining Disney, he has been working in theatre production for 22 years, worked as lead positions on productions of many famous musicals including Les Misérables, the Phantom of the Opera, and Chinese language version of MAMMA MIA!


Murray King

Vice President, Public Affairs

Murray King is Vice President of Public Affairs for Shanghai Disney Resort. In his role he is responsible for all aspects of public affairs for the new resort project, including external and internal communications, government relations and corporate citizenship/community relations.

Prior to joining Disney, Murray worked for the Washington, DC-based public affairs consulting firm APCO Worldwide as the firm’s regional managing director for Greater China. During Murray’s seven years with APCO he worked with a wide range of corporate clients on China public affairs and investment issues, serving as a key advisor on public affairs issues to some of the largest foreign investors in China, with specific expertise in assisting companies to build and execute strategic government engagement and corporate responsibility programs. He has also been a frequent commentator in both Chinese and international media on China current affairs issues.


Wang Yan

Vice President, Government Affairs and Community Relations

Wang Yan, Vice President, Government Affairs and Community Relations, leads the Government Affairs team to support Shanghai Disney Resort sustainable business success and growth through strategically engaging with government authorities, proactively protecting Shanghai Disney Resort reputation and building trustful partnership with key stakeholders. She is also responsible of developing, executing and supporting programs and projects that demonstrate and fulfill commitment to social responsibilities.

Yan started her career with Disney as Vice President of Sales, Shanghai Disney Resort till Nov 2016. Prior to joining Disney, Yan was the Deputy Director General of International Coop and Marketing Department of China National Tourism Administration including her 8 years of overseas assignments in Canada, US and Germany.


Andrew Bolstein

Vice President, Operations

Andrew Bolstein is Vice President, Operations for Shanghai Disney Resort, where he leads thousands of Cast Members (Disney’s term for employees), across a wide variety of operational business units. Andrew has been contributing to the Shanghai Disney Resort project since 2009, participating in negotiations and the current design development phase. A 20-year veteran of The Walt Disney Company, Andrew brings with him a proven track-record as a strategic leader with deep experience in developing high performance teams and delivering world-class guest experiences in international markets.


Alan Ai

Vice President, Marketing

Alan Ai is Vice President of Marketing for Shanghai Disney Resort, leading the Marketing and Consumer Insight teams . Alan is responsible for consumer understanding, go to market strategy and communication development and implementation. Alan has led the resort’s marketing strategy and integrated communication plan development works and kicked off the consumer communication since August 2014.

Before joining Disney, Alan served as Vice President of Marketing for Greater China at InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (IHG), where he led the brand management, marketing and consumer insights teams of the group in the Greater China region.


Lara Tiam

Vice President, Human Resources

Lara Tiam, Vice-President, Human Resources leads all human resources functions across Recruitment, Learning & Development, HR Operations, C&B, HRIS, HR Business Partners, Employee Relations and Cast Activities for Shanghai Disney Resort. Lara partners with leaders to develop organizational strategies to ensure that the talent, leadership and culture enable Shanghai Disney Resort’s successful operations and its long-term development.

Lara joined Disney in July 2013, after 15 years’ working for Intel. She has deep experience in Asia and China, having lived and worked in China since 2004.


Jean Zou

Deputy General Manager

Jean Zou, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort, partners and collaborates with senior leadership to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the Shanghai Disney Resort, as well as playing an active role regarding resources associated with project development, delivery and operations. In this capacity Jean assists the General Manager by integrating the segment lines of business with the operations. She also provides management to the local team and is expected to act in the absence of the GM.

Before Joining Shanghai Disney Resort, Jean served as Director of Shanghai Shendi Group, where she was responsible for coordinating all departments within the group and ensuring successful delivery of projects.

Wayne Gu

Wayne Gu, Deputy Chief Counsel – Head of Legal at Shanghai Disney Resort, takes overall responsibility for the legal affairs of the resort, collaborating and supporting the GM and other senior leadership by providing legal advice and ensuring the smooth and efficient creation of various legal documents, policies and processes and compliance in accordance with Chinese laws and regulations.

Before Joining Shanghai Disney Resort, Wayne served as senior VP and General Counsel at Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell Co., Ltd. He also has worked as senior legal counsel for British Petroleum.


Ken Wong

Vice President, Sales

Ken Wong, Vice President of Sales for Shanghai Disney Resort, is responsible for developing the resort’s overall sales strategies and managing the team to accomplish revenue goals. Ken’s portfolio also covers sales through multiple channels, identifying opportunities for new products, experiences and services. He works with the team and senior leadership at Shanghai Disney Resort to ensure a consistent brand presence in the region.

Ken has long been active in the travel and tourism industry, with years of executive leadership and proven marketing and sales excellence. He has worked at various management roles of sales and marketing function as well as brand development. His work has spread across various cities in China, allowing him to develop a profound understanding of both local and international customer needs. Prior to his current position, Ken served as Vice President of Asia Pacific Regional Sales for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Prior to joining the Disney team, Ken was Vice President of Marketing, Greater China division for InterContinental Hotels.
